Mothabir — Helping BAC Students Study With Clarity, Not Overwhelm
Mothabir is a learning platform that helps students get ready for their BAC exams without getting lost in all the different lessons, PDFs, and random info out there.
BAC students often jump between Facebook groups, YouTube videos, photocopied lessons, and old exams, lacking a clear idea of what, when, or how well they understand the material.
My main job was making the learning journey smooth for students.
This made Mothabir more than just content; it became a study buddy.
The problem
BAC preparation is stressful long before the exam date.
Students don’t struggle because they lack content; they struggle because they’re missing a deep grasp of it, a genuine passion for the work.
They struggle because they don’t know:
What should I study first?
What truly matters?
How to organize their revision
If they are getting better
They hop from one lesson to the next, past old exams, and through videos, often feeling like they're doing a lot but never really getting a grip on things.
The real problem was the lack of structure and direction, not the learning materials themselves.
Understanding the students
Talking to students revealed something important.
They were asking:
“Tell me what to study now.”
“Tell me if I’m doing well.”
“Help me not feel lost.”
They needed guidance, nothing more.
That idea changed the platform, making it a guided learning journey instead of just a content library.
Reframing the experience
Instead of presenting subjects as folders full of lessons, the experience needed to:
Show students where to start
Break learning into manageable steps
Connect lessons with practice and evaluation
Show visible progress
Every screen had to answer:
“What should I focus on right now?”

Shaping the learning flow
It felt easy and calm.
01
Choose your subject.
02
Take structured lessons.
03
Practice past exams
04
Follow progress over time.
No guesswork.
No jumping between sources.
No feeling lost.
Design decisions that mattered
It felt easy and calm.
Structuring lessons as a path
Instead of listing every lesson at the same time, the material was set up in a clear order so students could move through it one step at a time.
Connecting lessons to practice
Each learning step was paired with practice questions from earlier BAC exams, so students could use the new material right away.
Making progress
visible
When students could track their own progress over time, they felt less anxious and were more motivated to keep working.
What this changed for students
Students stopped studying randomly, and started studying with a plan.
They felt:
More organized
More confident
Less overwhelmed
More in control of their preparation
Mothabir became something they could rely on daily during exam season.
What this changed for the product
By focusing on structure instead of volume, Mothabir became:
Easier to use for first-time students
More engaging over long study periods
A daily study companion rather than a content archive
The platform offered more than just lessons. It became a community, a place to belong. With a subtle nod of pride, each member found a connection to something bigger.
Conclusion
This project really made me see something important about teaching: it's not about stuffing students with more facts or information. The real deal is actually showing them what to do with what they learn.
Mothabir didn't make students study more, it just helped them study with clarity.

During this stage, we immerse ourselves in the problem space, conducting extensive research to uncover insights into students' behaviors, challenges, and needs as they prepare for the BAC exam. This foundational phase is crucial for gathering data that will inform the design process and ensure that our solutions are grounded in real user experiences.
We conducted a User Survey to quickly gather broad insights into students' study habits and challenges in preparing for the BAC exam. This helped identify key trends and common pain points.

Exam Preparation challenges faced by students

We used User Interviews to dive deeper into individual experiences, uncovering detailed insights about students' motivations, struggles, and expectations in their BAC preparation.

In this phase, we synthesize our findings from the Discover phase to clearly articulate the core problem. By identifying key insights and distilling them into actionable problem statements, we set the direction for the design process. This phase ensures that we focus on addressing the most impactful issues that will make a difference in students' study habits and exam performance.
As a BAC student, who's seeking effective resources and exercises to prepare for my final exam. However, I struggle to find a comprehensive platform that fits my schedule, as support lessons are often inaccessible, and online content lacks quality and variety. Additionally, repetitive exam formats leave me feeling unprepared and anxious about passing.
With the data collected from the user interviews and online survey, We created a persona representing an ideal user of the application. the persona helped us arrive at better solutions as it gave an in-depth understanding of the user need and goals and frustrations and the overall personality.

During this phase, we turn insights into actionable designs by refining the user journey map and creating detailed user flows for seamless navigation. Wireframes outline the interface structure, and low-fidelity prototypes are developed for feedback. Interaction design ensures usability and accessibility, keeping the process user-centered and iterative.
We created the User Journey Map to visually capture the entire experience of students preparing for the BAC exam. By mapping key touchpoints, emotions, and pain points, we gain insights into how users interact with the platform and identify areas for improvement. This tool helps ensure that the design addresses user needs at each stage of their journey, aligning with their goals and expectations.

We outlined the step-by-step journey a student takes on the platform, from initial interaction to completing tasks like accessing lessons, practicing exercises, and taking quizzes. By designing an intuitive and efficient flow, we ensure seamless navigation and remove obstacles, creating logical pathways that enhance user engagement.

Wireframing
In the wireframing step, we created basic, low-fidelity layouts to visualize the platform’s structure and key features. These wireframes focused on the interface's organization, ensuring that elements were positioned for easy navigation and usability. This step helped us refine the design before moving on to more detailed prototypes, ensuring a clear and functional user experience.

In this phase, we finalized the design by refining the visual elements, including colors, typography, and branding for a cohesive and appealing interface. A high-fidelity prototype was created to simulate the platform’s real user experience, followed by usability testing with real users to gather feedback. This allowed us to make final adjustments, ensuring the platform was intuitive, functional, and ready for launch.

We focused on creating an engaging and intuitive interface by applying the chosen color palette, typography, and branding elements. It emphasized clarity, aesthetics, and alignment with user needs to enhance the overall experience.
The onboarding process ensures a smooth start for new users. It introduces the platform’s features, guides students through account setup, and helps them select their specific major to customize the learning experience. This personalized approach ensures relevance from the very first interaction.

Dive into well-structured lessons tailored to each subject in the chosen major. Each lesson is crafted for clarity and includes interactive elements to enhance understanding. A progress bar tracks completion and motivates students to stay consistent with their learning goals.
A vibrant student community where users can ask questions, share study tips, and exchange useful resources. This space encourages collaboration and mutual support, making learning a social and interactive experience.

We designed other screens for Video lessons, statistics, and teacher side. Beside of that, check the other screens that follow the main screens of the core features we've mentionned.

We created an interactive prototype simulating the platform's key features, such as lessons, exercises, study groups, and quizzes. This allowed users to test the experience and provided valuable feedback, helping us refine the design before development.

We conducted usability testing with real users to identify challenges and inefficiencies. The feedback gathered during these sessions helped us refine the design, ensuring the platform was intuitive, functional, and user-friendly.
